Overview
TrendingDevTools is a free directory where makers list developer tools, AI tools and SaaS products, and developers discover what's trending. Submitting is free. The goal of the project is simple: give builders a clean, fast and honest place to show their work, and give developers a single page where they can see which tools people are actually talking about and adopting right now. Instead of scrolling through endless social feeds, launch threads and newsletters, visitors can open TrendingDevTools and immediately see a curated, up to date view of the tooling landscape.
The directory was started by Aby Varghese, an independent founder who kept running into the same problem: great developer products were launching every week, but there was no lightweight, free place to discover them in one spot. Many existing directories charge high fees, hide listings behind paywalls, or bury smaller makers under sponsored placements. TrendingDevTools takes a different approach. Every maker can submit their product for free, every listing gets its own page, and visitors never need an account to browse.
Key Features
- Free submissions. Makers, indie hackers, open source maintainers and startups can list a product without paying anything. There is no hidden fee and no mandatory upsell to get a basic listing published.
- Trending feed. The home page highlights tools that are gaining attention, so developers can quickly see what is new and what is growing.
- Newest tools. A chronological feed shows the most recently added products, which is useful for people who like to try things early.
- Categories and tags. Products are organized into categories such as developer tools, AI tools, SaaS, productivity, APIs, DevOps, testing, databases, design and no code. Tags make it easy to narrow results down to a specific stack or use case.
- Dedicated listing pages. Each product gets a page with its name, tagline, description, logo, pricing model, category, tags and a direct link to the official website. This gives makers a permanent, shareable profile and a useful backlink.
- Fast, clean pages. The site is built with a modern stack, loads quickly, works well on mobile and avoids intrusive pop ups, so visitors can focus on the tools themselves.
- No sign up to browse. Anyone can explore the directory without creating an account or handing over an email address.
Who It Is For
TrendingDevTools is built for two groups of people. The first group is makers: solo developers shipping side projects, small teams launching a SaaS, open source maintainers looking for more users, and AI builders who want their app in front of a technical audience. For them, the directory is a free distribution channel, a place to collect early feedback and a way to build a little more visibility in search engines.
The second group is developers and technical decision makers who want to discover tools. Front end and back end engineers, DevOps and platform teams, data scientists, product managers and founders all use the directory to find alternatives, compare options and stay current. Because listings are short, structured and consistent, it is easy to scan many tools in a few minutes and open only the ones that look promising.
