Overview
There are thousands of AI tools and almost no honest way to compare them. Most "top 10" articles are affiliate rankings in disguise, and most directories are link dumps — a logo, a tagline, and no evidence anyone opened the product.
launched.tools is the opposite. Every listing is actually reviewed: test-driven, scored against a published rubric, and written up with a verdict naming what the tool is good at and where it falls short. More than 200 tools have been reviewed across chatbots, image, video, code, writing, productivity, automation, design, sales and support.
The promise is deliberately narrow: the score is not for sale. Listing is free, and payment cannot raise a number, remove a criticism, or reorder a ranking. Most submissions are rejected.
Key Features
Scored on five public axes, so you see where a tool is strong or weak instead of trusting one number:
- Capability — does it do the hard part of its job well?
- Usability — onboarding, interface, time to real value
- Value — what you get for the plan you actually pay for
- Reliability — does it hold up, and fail gracefully?
- Docs & support — documentation, examples, support surface
Every tool runs the same rubric, so scores compare across the directory. The rubric is public: how we review.
Honest write-ups. Real pros, real cons, and a plain verdict about the product — genuine trade-offs like pricing ceilings and thin integrations, not fake-modest filler.
Live category rankings. Each category ranks every reviewed tool by score and updates as new reviews land — not a listicle left to rot.
Editorial roundups. The blog publishes comparisons built from the same review data.
Built for AI answer engines. Structured data, matching visible and marked-up FAQs, and an explicit welcome to AI crawlers — so listed tools surface inside assistant answers, not just search results.
Use Cases
- Choose without burning a trial — a scored, independent verdict resolves in two minutes what costs an afternoon of testing.
- Compare a whole category side by side: who leads, who is cheap and limited, who is powerful and steep.
- Sanity-check a recommendation you got from social media or an AI assistant.
- Get a new product discovered — makers get a quotable review, a dofollow link, and visibility at the moment buyers decide.
Getting Started
Researching tools? No account needed. Browse all tools, open a category, or search from the homepage. A free account adds upvotes and comments.
Submitting a product? About three minutes:
- Submit at launched.tools/submit — name, URL, category, pricing, short description.
- Clear the review gate. Genuine products pass easily; spam, thin wrappers and out-of-scope submissions are filtered out. The bar is what makes a listing worth having.
- Add the verified badge to your site's markup — your listing publishes instantly, no manual queue.
Your dashboard then tracks status and lets you edit or re-verify anytime.
Pricing & Plans
Listing is free — full review, scored listing page, dofollow link, and inclusion in rankings and search. The only requirement is reciprocal: the verified badge on your site. That exchange keeps the directory free for makers and keeps listings honest.
Featured placement is available for extra visibility. It is clearly labelled as promoted, and it never touches the score, verdict, or ranking — a featured tool with a mediocre score still shows it. Buying visibility is possible; buying a better review is not.
That boundary is the whole product.
