IELTS Writing Practice is a browser-based preparation platform for people working toward a stronger score in the IELTS Writing test. It combines a realistic computer-delivered writing environment with a structured practice loop: choose a task, write under exam-style time and word-count conditions, submit the draft for private AI-powered evaluation, review detailed feedback, and rewrite with clear priorities.
The simulator supports Academic and General Training writing practice. Learners can work on Task 1 and Task 2 prompts while seeing practical timing and word-count information. The experience is designed to feel closer to the real computer-delivered test than an ordinary blank document, so candidates can practise both writing quality and test-day habits. Drafting is available without an account, which makes it easy to explore the interface before deciding whether to submit work for scoring.
When a learner submits a draft, the private review explains performance across the four IELTS Writing criteria: Task Achievement or Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy. The result includes an estimated practice band score, criterion-level analysis, identified issues, and concrete revision guidance. These estimates are for preparation only and are not official IELTS results.
The product is built around repeated improvement rather than a single score. A learner can select an appropriate question, complete a timed response, study the feedback, and produce a clearer rewrite. This helps turn broad advice such as “improve coherence” into specific actions, including strengthening paragraph structure, making comparisons clearer, developing ideas more fully, choosing more precise vocabulary, and correcting recurring grammar patterns.
Official writing samples are available for study and comparison. They help learners see how real tasks, responses, bands, and examiner comments relate to one another. The sample library is presented as a learning resource rather than a shortcut: users can compare approaches, notice effective organization, and return to the simulator to apply what they learned in their own writing.
IELTS Writing Practice is useful for self-study learners, students applying to universities, professionals pursuing registration or employment, and immigration applicants who need an IELTS result. It can also support teachers who want learners to practise independently between lessons. Both first-time candidates and repeat test takers can use the simulator to build familiarity, diagnose weaknesses, and organize their preparation around evidence from completed drafts.
The simulator can be opened and used for drafting without creating an account. Signing in and a paid plan are required when submitting writing for AI-powered scoring and detailed feedback. Current plan information is shown on the website. Reviews remain private to the user account.
Open the simulator, choose Academic or General Training, select a writing task, and begin drafting. Use the timer and word count to manage the response as you would during the real test. After finishing, sign in and submit the draft if you want a private score estimate and detailed review. Read the criterion feedback, identify the highest-impact changes, and rewrite the response. Repeating this cycle across several tasks creates a practical record of strengths, recurring problems, and next steps.
IELTS Writing Practice is independent and is not approved or endorsed by IELTS or its test partners. It is a preparation tool intended to support deliberate practice, not a replacement for an official test result or individual professional advice.
